SOFT TISSUE THERAPY

Soft Tissue Therapy has been evolving over the last 30 years through the work of pioneering therapists who kept increasing their clinical skills, so they could meet the needs of their clients better.

Those needs have also changed because Physiotherapy in the UK no longer includes the highly successful hands-on techniques that Soft Tissue Therapists now specialise in. As a consequence Soft Tissue Therapists have started to become in demand, down to the ‘hands on skills’ they apply.

Soft Tissue Therapy is emerging as the only manual therapy using a range of ‘hands on’ skills that have proved effective in helping people with chronic and acute pain symptoms. Not just ‘a massage’, but a comprehensive analysis to understand biomechanical dysfunction and to actively work on solutions to lead to a ‘back to normal’ pain free life routine.

I am a Soft Tissue Therapist qualified at BTEC Level 5, with an association to the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage. I have qualifications in Dry Needling, Ultrasound, Electrotherapy, Taping and Strapping, and I’m an accredited massage therapist in Oncology.

My aim is always to apply the right modalities in a clinic session plan and to improve your health and wellbeing.

I have invaluable experience in dealing with most common injuries, and was a massage therapist at the Commonwealth Games. Having an extensive background in sport, I relate to the frustration and the understanding required to get ‘fixed’ as soon as possible. Even if you have an injury that is not ‘sport’ related, getting you back to an improved and healthier lifestyle is a top priority for me.

“Over several different periods of time, I have received top quality therapy for various different injuries and conditions. Each time I have been given good treatment and follow up advice. Definitely recommend.”

“Dave provides a personal, professional service. I was able to discuss with him the problems I was experiencing and he suggested specific treatments he felt I would benefit from. His Deep Tissue Massages are second to none, so even if you do not have any injuries, I would highly recommend an ‘MOT’ to keep everything in moving and in order. Dave always makes you feel very welcome and explains everything in layman’s terms so you understand what’s going on and what you need to do to move forward.”

“I’ve seen Dave for several years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else! He provides a great initial analysis to work out how you are as an individual and takes the time to get to know YOU, with regular checks to see if anything has changed. I’m fortunate not to have been really injured but I put that down to great maintenance from regular MOT treatment and the communication between Dave and I to prevent anything from developing.”
